What is a hybrid sex doll?

A hybrid sex doll has a silicone head on a TPE body. You get the sharper facial detail and harder-wearing skin of silicone on the face, with the softer feel and lower price of TPE for the body. The material

The body is TPE (thermoplastic elastomer): very soft, stretchy and porous. The head is silicone: firmer, smoother and non-porous, and it holds sharp sculpted detail around the eyes, lips and nose.

Because the two parts are different materials, they need slightly different care. The simple rule: look after the body as TPE and the head as silicone.

How it feels

The body feels just like a TPE doll: very soft with plenty of give. The head is firmer and smoother to the touch, and the face keeps its shape and expression rather than softening when handled.

How to care for it

Cleaning

Body (TPE): wash with lukewarm water, never hot, and a mild, unscented soap or a cleaner made for dolls, and rinse the openings with an irrigation bottle after every use. Head (silicone): wipe the face with a damp cloth and a little mild soap rather than soaking it, and do not scrub the makeup. Keep water away from the neck joint, as the skeleton inside has metal parts.

Drying

Pat everything dry with a soft, lint-free towel and dry the openings with an absorbent stick or rolled lint-free cloth. The TPE body is porous, so let it air-dry completely before powdering or dressing; moisture left inside can cause odours and mould. The silicone head dries quickly.

Powder

Dust the TPE body lightly with a renewal powder made for TPE dolls once it is dry, and reapply after washing or every few weeks in storage. The silicone head does not need powder.

Storage

Store the doll lying flat on a soft surface, or hanging if its skeleton and hanging kit are designed for it. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heaters, because the TPE body is heat-sensitive. Avoid long pressure on one spot of the body, which can crease or dent TPE. If the doll has implanted hair, comb it gently and keep it dry.

Staining

The TPE body can absorb dye from dark or newly dyed clothing, bedding, ink and newsprint, so choose light-coloured or colour-fast clothes and wash new clothes first. The silicone head resists staining better, but face makeup can wear if rubbed. Avoid harsh solvents on either part.

Lube

Use water-based lube only, because the body is TPE.
