TPE or Silicone Torso: Which Material Should You Choose?

Across our current torso collection, 244 of 264 products are TPE, with only a small number in hybrid or full silicone - so TPE is the default material for a torso, and silicone is the rarer, premium option.

TPE torsos

TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is soft, warms to body temperature, and is the most affordable and widely available torso material - it is what most of our torso range is made from. It is body-safe and phthalate-free, cares for easily with warm water and mild soap, and gives a soft, giving feel closest to skin.

Silicone torsos

Silicone is firmer, holds fine detail (skin texture, veining) better than TPE, is more heat-resistant, and is easier to sterilise thoroughly, which suits some hygiene preferences. It costs more to produce, so silicone torsos are a smaller, premium part of our range rather than the default.

How to choose

  • Want the softest feel and the widest choice at the lowest price: TPE.
  • Want firmer resistance, finer detail and easier sterilising, and do not mind paying more or a smaller choice: silicone.
