Why weight matters as much as height when buying a doll

Height is only one measurement

Height gives a useful sense of scale, but it does not tell you how easy a doll will be to handle. Body shape, construction and the components included can change its weight substantially. Two products of similar height can therefore be very different to move and store.

Read the weight on the specific listing rather than borrowing a number from another doll by the same brand. Check whether a figure describes the product or its shipping package. If a weight is missing or unclear, contact us with the product link instead of estimating from the photographs.

Plan the route home

Think through delivery before checkout. Where can the courier leave the parcel, and how will it reach its storage area? Stairs, tight doorways and limited floor space can make a large package difficult to manage. Arrange appropriate help where needed rather than relying on an optimistic lifting estimate.

Storage should also be based on the manufacturer's recommendations and the actual product dimensions. Do not assume furniture can support a heavy product just because it fits inside. Leave room to inspect and care for it without having to work in an awkward position.

Make a useful shortlist
